Sweat-wicking, quick-drying, windproof, water-resistant - the Nimble Hooded Jacket is a classic soft shell that even looks good enough to wear far from dirt trails.
It also has a few extra details that take it from standard to high performance. Stretch fabric makes it ideal for scrambling or hotfooting it over technical terrain.
The elasticated hood, hem and cuffs mean chilling winds won't sneak in uninvited. And a nice final touch: the zipped chest pocket is media compatible - the perfect home for your phone.
You can't beat fluffy goose down for winter warmth, as you'll discover when you pull on our Hyalite Down Jacket.
Filled with 550-fill of responsibly-sourced down, this is the jacket you'll turn to when you want to be sure of staying warm and toasty on the mountain. Zipped pockets let you stow your phone and other essentials without worrying that they'll fall out when you're navigating tough hiking trails.
Three levels of protection in one stylish package - the Quest Zip-In Triclimate® Jacket takes the guesswork out of layering.
The outer shell is made using breathable, waterproof DryVent™ fabric technology to keep you dry and protected from the worst of the weather.
The fleecy inner layer will keep you warm while wicking sweat. Wear them together or independently as the weather dictates.
You can easily stuff it into a backpack when hiking, but as soon as you stop or the temperature drops, you can pull it on for instant warmth where you need it most. The Diablo Down Gilet does this in a lightweight package, thanks to its 700-fill of responsibly-sourced down.
Combine it with a shell jacket and midlayer fleece for full weather protection when hiking.

Air pockets trap air without compromising breathability, so you stay warm without getting sweaty. It's the ideal layering piece to wear with a waterproof shell. This fleece is part of our Circular Design initiative - a collection designed to minimise waste and pollution. Once you're done with it, recycle them back to us to keep the adventures going.

The North Face have crafted it from 100% recycled polyester, so you can pull it on knowing you've made a better choice for the environment when you set out on your next adventure. Even better, it's also compatible with other The North Face® zip-in garments, so you can easily add an extra layer when the conditions call for more protection.
Hiking is made easy with the Exploration Trousers.
Firstly, there's the lightweight stretch fabric that doesn't stick to your skin and moves with you, instead of restricting you. They're relaxed through the thigh, with a regular front and back rise and a regular-fitting waist for all-day comfort. Then there's the roll-up and secure hem feature for providing a little bit of lower leg ventilation.
And finally, the water-repellent finish comes in handy for shedding light showers. They feature two zipped hand pockets and two larger zipped pockets on the thighs.
If your idea of hiking is more pacey hut-to-hut routes over undulating terrain than slow and steady treks at lower altitudes, then the Lightning Trousers are for you. Made from a nylon-elastane mix, they're durable, stretchy and surprisingly soft. They’re engineered with long-lasting FlashDry-XD™ technology that wicks away sweat helping to keep you dry – and, in the long term, warm. And thanks to articulation at the knees, clambering up and down over rocks or steps is blissfully restriction-free.
All this means you stay dry, protected from the wind and won’t get too hot and sweaty in the process – ideal when hiking in shifting conditions. It features a fitted, adjustable hood and a cinch-cord hem and elasticated cuffs to keep bad weather out. A brushed-knit chin guard means the top of the zip won’t become irritating and there are two zipped hand pockets.
Iconic for good reason, the Base Camp Duffel is trusted by travellers and adventurers from the Himalayas to urban metropolises. It's now made from water-resistant recycled materials but packs the same durability and ruggedness.
It's not just tough; it's really practical, too, with a tonne of thought-through features that make it an explorer's best friend. Use it as a duffel when it's in transit with the two padded side handles, or wear it as a backpack with the detachable, adjustable ergonomic shoulder straps when you're on the move.
It opens right up, so you can see what you've packed in its spacious 50-litre capacity. If you do manage to over-pack, the four compression straps help you find space for a little more. There's a zipped end-cap pocket for separating dirty shoes or wet clothes without sacrificing space in the main compartment, which has a mesh pocket for helping you get organised.
